JLG Attachments

In the late 1960's John L. Grove, with his wife Cora embarked on on a cross country voyage in their RV. Recently retired, after spending many years working with his brother to develop their crane business into an market leader, John had no idea that momentous trip would permit JLG Industries, Inc to emerge. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision materials handling equipment was the end result of a road trip.

Whilst on their trip, John spent time talking to past business associates whom the Groves stopped to see along the way. These conversations combined with a tragic occurrence-two workers being electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were going to the Hoover Dam- John uncovered an infinite marketplace for a product that could swiftly and safely lift people in the air to accomplish maintenance and other construction functions.

Following their return from holiday, John set up a business with two of his friends and purchased a metal fabricating business in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Starting with a small crew of twenty employees, they fashioned and sold their first JLG aerial work platform in 1970. The company incorporates many of the simple design elements of that original lift into current versions.

Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a long way from when Mr. John L. Grove returned from his fatefull cross-country trip and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the market. As of today, the business has expanded itself into a number of international marketplaces and continues to develop new machines to guarantee that customers are able to become safer and more well-organized within their workplace.
